Steven Sheffield


After coming off the bench to play for Texas Tech, Steven Sheffield led them to gain a 41-31 win over Michigan State at the Alamo Bowl tonight in San Antonio.
Sheffield, the backup quarterback was 6 for 6 for 75 yards and had a touchdown on his first drive of the game late in the fourth quarter.
Sheffield who was born in 1988, in Austin Texas, is a general business major.
At 6 foot 4 and 190 pounds, the Quarterback will certainly be gaining more attention for his performance this weekend.Playing for Texas Tech which is also Texas Tech University, or TTU, which is a public, co-ed, research university in Lubbock, Texas. Established in 1923, it has the sixth largest student body in the state of Texas.
The Alamo Bowl has been played annually since 1993 and is a major American college football Bowl Game played in the 65,000 seat Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
This is the first year the game will be played in January, as traditionally it was played in December.This was a great feat for Sheffield and the Texas Tech’s after the controversy surrounding the team and it’s recently sacked coach Mike Leach.
The suspension, then sacking, came after allegations of mistreatment by student Adam James following a mild concussion. Ruffin McNeill a Defensive Coordinator stood in as interim coach which led them to the 2010 Alamo Bowl.
